Hi all,

I use the Pegco 2*2 mounts sold by reel-3D and bring the slides into a
local semi-pro photo store to be scanned onto Photo-CD. It's reasonably
priced for the high quality, something like 2 dollars a chip, and they scan
at 5 different resolutions. I'm not sure that the highest of these is
output quality, but if you're just looking to get your best images on a
website, or something of that sort, I think it's a good way to go. One
caveat is that the pegco mounts have rounded corners so the images must be
cropped a bit to rectangles onscreen. Also, it requires either remounting
or scanning before you mount.
...When we tuned in last time, a badly wired flash on my Nimslo sent a bolt
of painful electricity through my entire body, and through the camera
itself. Bob Weir said that the 1000+ volts should have fried the
electronics, but I'm happy to say that reports of my Nimslo's death are
greatly exaggerated. A test roll came out fine, and I got used to advancing
the film with oven mitts on pretty quickly.
