lenticular calculations

Grant has already answered John Fairstein's question, so no need to redo
that...

The formula Grant lists just might do the job! (BTW did you derive this?)
The math shown is pretty straight forward, but I'd like some clarification
on some of the definitions of the terms included in the equation. It will
be interesting to check the results against the values that the Imagetrack
calculation wheels come up with for camera movement.

So Grant, please post to me off the listserv, and let's have a go at
cracking/verifying the code used by Imagetech for building the values used
in their calculation wheels. An additional problem is that the values
identified by the wheels and linked to the Imagetrack rail are
artificial-- e.g. a setting of "2.3" on the rail, to choose a random
example, for a 17" foreground, 21" key subject, and 31" inch background
for a 35mm camera equipped with a 40mm lens doesn't really mean anything
outside of the world of Imagetech. However, I do have measuring devices...
:)
