I have owned my Compco 500 for 18 months and have not had an
overheating
problem. The Compco fan on my projector is a little stiff to move and
takes
a few minutes to reach its full speed as the bearing warms up. The
manual
advises that the bearing be oiled frequently. It maybe a good idea to
fully inspect the fan motor to determine whether it may be gummed up.

I normally use bulbs purchased from Reel 3-d. The only time I have
problems
with the CZA bulbs was when I tried to power the projector using a triac
voltage converter device ( 240V to 110V ), Australia being a 240 Volt
country. The converter and the projector were not a good combination.
When
I turned one lamp on as a test, there was a very bright flash of light
and
the CZA was no more. It did exhibit the pot belly look when I removed it
from the projector.

Does anyone know if halogen replacement bulbs are available for
the Compco 500? Dalia has them for TDC projectors, there maybe be
replacements
for CZA. If so, I would very much like to purchase.
