Hi Stefano!  This issue (which side of the heat-seal cardboard mounts is
the front and which is the back) has been debated for years now.  At the
end, it boils down to personal preferences.  Most people do what you do
and have the tabs in the back and split in the front because it "looks 
better" that way or it is more intuitive to place the chips down that
way when the mask is open.

However, notice that one set of apertures (in the side with the split)
is bigger than the other.  If you leave this side in-front, then light
leaks through the back side and creates a diffused light band around
your slide.  I tend to think that the "correct" way is the one suggested
by Reel-3d because it does not give you these diffused boundaries, but
it does not make much difference at the end.  (I don't use these mounts
so I cannot state what my personal preference is.)
