I think this idea has merit on it's own without any particular companies
name attached. A camera retailer informs me that APS slide film is planned
and expected in the near future (probably already exists). Making use of it
for stereo presentation purposes has merits worth considering, despite any
of it's obvious drawbacks. Any company considering mass distribution might
find this technology useful. They supposedly designed APS with the ability
to make further and better use of it than it starts out with, it's up to
those with interest in stereo images to investigate the potential and use it.

Perhaps the *hackers* would find one of the APS sources willing to provide
some of the newer techno information, like how to make use of the magnetic
coating on the film. Has anyone asked yet?
