Hyper 3Discover?

With all the talk on 3Discover being hyper and the pros and cons
about it, it got me to thinking on another aspect and Dr.T could
probably fill or correct me here on this topic better than I can.

One problem which I think makes the hyper shots more objectionable
in general with the 3Discover is more because of the rather short
focal length of the lenses on the viewer itself. I checked the
VM shots and found them to be slightly hyper in general also.
Now why don't most people object to this as strenously. I think
it's because the focal length on the VM is rather long. If one
views the 3Discover cassettes with optics other than the 3Discover
the images take on a more real aspect to them. For example using
longer focal length lenses and viewing the Statue of Liberty, it
actually starts looking as if one is viewing it from a plane. Same
wih the Celine Dion, which with the 3Discover looks like it's Barbie.
But with the longer F.L. lenses it actually looks as if one is in the
front row seat watching her perform. Which BTW is where most of the
pics were taken from. Thus it seems they should be correlating their
stereo base and or F.L. of their cameras to the F.L. of their viewers
more carefully.

I do remember Dr.T mentioning something about the Green button having
shorter F.L. and people in general preferring Red buttons. I don't
remember the reasons given in that instance though. But I do remember
him mentioning that people tend to prefer longer F.L. in general which
I am not sure is completely true. Now where is Dr.T??? In his damp and
gloomy basement! ;;;;;-)
