This definitely sounds like synchronisation to me. My original Realist
displayed similar problems too. The way to find out is to put a flash
cable adapter on the hot shoe so that you can hold the flash infront of
the lens pointing straight into it. Remove the back of the camera and
activate the shutter @ 1/100 sec whilst looking through. Try it with each
lens. My guess is that you'll see the flash through one lens but not the
other. This indicates a synchronisation problem. Shots in available
light work of course because the light is constant and not momentary. It
is repairable though I don't know how. Another way around it is try using
slower shutter speeds. This may allow flash synchronisation but be
careful if there is a lot of ambient light such as a fill flash situation.
