Freeviwing experiments

Here is what I had suggested some time ago: Take two identical solid
objects, align them and freeview them. You should see a hypostereo view of
the combined object. It is hypostereo because there is less parallax than
viewing it with bare eyes. Now cross view them. You should see a
hyperstereo view. To get the ortho view, simply look at one object!!!
(don't freeview or cross view, just look at it normally, that's the point
of viewing!)
Experiment by changing the spacing of the two objects. If the objects are
spaced apart at a distance equal to the eye spacing then the view is
totally flat, as expected.
What this experiment will teach you is that the hypo view is more
imposing/impressive. The object appears to be _larger_ in size than it
really is. (At first I made the mistake to think that this is a
hyperstereo; beginners make the mistake to think that a hyperstereo will
show objects larger than life but the opposite is actually true, objects
appear smaller).
You can do this experiment by freeviewing the keys in your computer
keyboard. When the freeviewing pattern is locked it, the keys will appear
larger (hypo). You can change the spacing by freeviewing keys further
apart.
