It's worth the $99 if you're going to use it with videos. I just hooked
mine up this weekend, and I found that it works very well with the
standard field sequential video tapes and Toshiba camera, up to a
viewing distance of about 11 or 12 feet from the screen, which is
usually ample for the typical home TV or TV monitor. The pluses are very
good -- wireless works as well as wired! Also, the neutral color of the
glasses is a little on the warm side, which, unlike the greenish Toshiba
wired glasses, is by far the most desirable grayish tint for sustaining
the illusion of bright colors through the light loss of the polarizers
and liquid crystals.

The plastic neutral density filter on the outside of the glasses can be
(carefully!) removed, if you don't care risking breaking the delicate
snaps molded as part of the filter; surprisingly, removing the filter
doesn't appear to increase the brightness enough to make it worth while
removing its protection from the interior of the glasses, but the very
slight ripples in the plastic may make it worthwhile for some to remove
the filter for the gain in uniform sharpness. The filter DOES noticably
reduce flicker in brighter scenes, which is another good reason to leave
it in place.

I've had less satisfactory results with the computer hook-up, probably
because, on my IBM PC-compatible, Pentium 133 mhz computer with Windows
95, I am using an ATI 3D Pro Turbo PC2TV video board. This board is
very new, using a RAGE chip instead of ATI's more commonly installed
MACH 64 or MACH 32 chips, which means that the VRex software
does not have an option tailored to its characteristics. Aside from
that, one of the options to view a demo does not appear to work -- the
option causes the computer to reboot without executing the demo. I have
several questions submitted to VRex regarding computer operation, and
will forward the answers when I get them.
