VREX - VIDEO SURFER - ANYONE TRY THEM?

I have tried the VREX Video Surfer on both the TV and PC games (although
only on the lo-res version on the PC since my PC monitor did not support
the higher-res). The system uses an infrared beam geared to the odd and
even frames on the TV, which cause liquid crystal shutter glasses to
synchronize the left and right eyes properly. Higher-end systems from
Stereographics for example cost many hundreds of dollars just for the
shutter glasses. Here, you get software and a video tape too. Kids have fun
viewing the
TV for awhile, although I think in the long run the games would be more fun
for them. The stereo is reasonably good, with some objects coming out of
the screen (I tested on several people), although you must remember you are
getting only
1/2 the vertical spatial NTSC resolution on the TV. I would expect the
high-res version on a proper moniotor PC would look much better. For the
price, they can't be beat -- Reveo has done a good job of breaking all
price barriers on this one. I recommend - definitely worth trying.
