I would like to take a moment to thank Dr. T for perspective.
(being an amateur myself).  I would have to agree that most things
are taken to excess in this group.

But is that unreasonable?  There are both professionals here and 
people who do this for fun who just started last week.  The
in depth worrying stuff might be useful for the profs but useless
to anyone else.  So what?  It is info that they need it is nice
to read and ignore it sometimes.  The trick is wording the 
questions so the answerer knows who is asking it so they
don't become preachy to someone who does not care. It's a medium we will 
find if we look.

But what do I know. I shoot as much film as I can using depth of field
to guide my focus and guessing the light settings so I don't get slowed
down by details and can enjoy what I'm shooting.  Dr. T would probably
cringe if he knew that sometimes I would prefer that the Realist was
a point and shoot.
