film chip spacing

I was mounting some full-frame pictures the other night using the 
mounting gauge I bought from Reel 3D. I noticed that there are 
different separations for near and far points shown for different 
formats. 

Since I'm viewing the slides in my Realist Red Dot, should I observe 
the spacings shown for the slide format, or stick to the standard 
realist setting?
