This is a bit late, but you can always take a 7p slide with you
and put in the carrier with the carrier outside the projector.
When you push it in check if you can see the entire image width,
including parts of the mount in the sides.  If you cannot see it
then it will not be projected.  It is the carrier that cuts the
image off.  Older 116's came with a carrier with wide enough
apertures for 7p.  Newer 116's and all 716's come with a carrier
with narrow apertures that cuts off the 7p image.
