ALPS printers

I played with an ALPS at Seybold last year and it is not impressive.  It
is basically a toy.  Transmissive Dmax is about 1.8The output has a
gritty appearance.  They do print some interesting demo files (one has
fish under water), but you will not be able to duplicate that quality
with scans of normal images.

If you really want digital prints, the Fuji is the way to go.  Dye subs
and ink jets have an extremely short life, even when kept in the dark.
