Nimslo - Won't go !!

I picked up a Nimslo at weekend.

One of the batteries had corroded (luckily it has cleaned up ok)
I put new batteries in and tested it. The exposure red/green signals seem 
to be working ok, but when I fire the shutter the widest they open is about 
the size of a pinhole.

I ran a film through to confirm there was a problem, it did not register
an image at all.

I suspect the camera has not been used for a number of years but apart
from that it seems to be in good condition.

I am assuming the problem is mechanical rather than electronic - anyone
suffered similar problems ? Any ideas where to go from here ?
