Needlesss to say I didn't buy a viewer at the auction. It was a pretty
nice viewer (though I don't have any real knowledge of what is and isn't
nice, though it wamuch better than the viewers at the Photogrphica expo
held in Waltham MA last week..). The viewer was all wood (including a
wooden hood) with an adjustable handle. It seemed to be in real good
shape. The stack of cards (~40?) were of varying quality. Some werescuffed
enough to make stereo viewing a headache. Unfortunately, I sat for 2.5
hrs (it was item 157). The bidding started at $25, but went up to $75. I
set a limit for myself of $60 regardless of the quality. It would have
been nice to have gotten it, but thats fine with me. It was my first
auction ever, and I actually look forward to going to a few more. The
person who responded in the last post was right though, there were a few
dealers there. I don't know if it was a dealer that bought it though. I
doubt it, most of the dealers were interested in either dolls or
furniture.
