Upon further emamination (when he got home) he told me more about 
his camera:

Rodenstock, but Zeiss Tessars.  It is not roll film, but usese septums,
like the grafmatic holders.  I am not at all certain that they are wroking
properly, as I told you it is mostly a collector's item, I think.  The
size of the film appears to be 4cm X 11cm.  I will be away for the
week-end but accessible by email.
