Stere Titles

I wrote an article a few years ago on how to create 3D titles. The article
was in Stereo World (NSA). There are a lot of mathematical formulas that
do work, however, I disappeared into the basement one weekend determined to
find an easy way to quickly knock out 3D titles without and pain or
calculator. It works.....

I use a computer to help create 3D titles. Using a drawing program (Adobe
photoshop) The better the paint program, the easier it is to move things.
Adobe allows one to leave the original and "move" the copy horizontally any
specific distance. I write a line. I copy it over 2.75" to the right.
Anything that I want coming in front, use less distance ie. 2.6, 2.55 etc
anything you want behind go larger ie. 2.8, 2.85. I then print everything
out on good quality white paper using a laser printer (300dip works).
Using a copy stand and a 35mm with a macro lens (or close up filters)
photograph the right then the left. I also use two "blue bulbs" for a
daylight light source.

You then have two chips, mount them and you have stereo titles, you can
also use clip art, etc. You can free view then if you get the right size.
I usually have about 3 titles per 8x 10 page, each image maybe 1.5' square,
experiment.

I have created slides for specific shows, as travel titles and information
slides. I have had only text slides, ones with text and clip art and some
with a scanned slide and put text in the sky area. (This I did once but
since I do not own a slide scanner and had to send the disk out to be made
into slides $$$ I don't do in often. If equipment costs come down or
lotteries luck improves I can get the fancy equipment).

REMEMBER---- our International Exhibition "The Lighthouse" is coming up.
We run our PSA international exhibition as a fund raiser for the Chicago
Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired. The shows are May 1
(Oakton Community College -Des Plaines) and May 4 (Naperville Radisson
Hotel.) E mail me for more information. All proceeds are turned in to the
charity.
