That's interesting. Personally I find it easier to cross view but when
making the conscious effort to parallel view, do find it more relaxing.
So for one that is not adept at parallel viewing, maybe initially it will
be straining in the sense that one would have to mentally strain and make
that conscientious effort. But after learning the technique will find it
more relaxing.

In the explanation about Dark Vergence that makes sense. This would mean
that for some individuals it would indeed be more "tense" to parallel view.
But as mentioned above, I think the average population would find
parallel viewing more relaxing after learning it. This intitial straining
effort for some in parallel viewing is of course because when one tries
to parallel view and diverge the eyes past the focal plane of the image
there is a mental block because the brain is not acustomed to this new
relationship.

But now I wonder if another more detailed poll should be or have been
taken? For those that can free view in both ways, what mode do they
find more relaxing?

Yes the collation has started and the polling results so far are neck and
neck. And as Andrew mentions send your replies to offlist to
jacob@xxxxxxxxxxxxx unless some comments want to be shared with P3D, in
any case I will still enter your preference in the poll.

>Me? I prefer cross-eyed.

Now X are in the lead!
