The gentleman who owns the Cinema 93 Movie House in Concord, NH got his
projectors fixed and was able to project 3D again starting with the
Matinee on Thursday. He will be showing the classic western "Charge At
Feather River" on Friday April 23 at 2:00 and 7:30 P.M. He is not a bit
overpriced @ $7.00 for adults ($6.00 for seniors over 60) and low kids
prices. The prints are extremely well projected. This old Western is
photographed well for 3D with great use made of good shots taking
advantage of the stereo window. In spite of my best efforts, I did a few
involuntary ducks from knives and arrows and spears!
This is a clean well-maintained theater which has been under the same
management for more than 20 years. All the locals know the
manager/tickettaker/projectionist on a first name basis. My wife who works
in Concord, mentioned to a co-worker that I was coming in to take her to
the 3D Movie was told all about the manager, and she remembered seeing
Jaws IV in 3D at the Cinema 93 when she was in High School. She said the
manager was a wonderful man, who had a real cool relationship with all the
movie going kids in town.
In addition to the movie house, the manager has branched out into video
tape rentals. However it is no clone of videomax! He maintains a stable
of all the videotapes you can't get anywhere else: classic, contemporary
foreign, 3D, and limited editions. You could spend hours there, engaged in
conversation with an owner full of knowledge about his subject matter(s).
Oh yes, I can't forget the Popcorn! Gigantic Bags, filled about 1/3 then
squirted with "butter" oil then another 1/3 popcorn, more oil, more
popcorn and more oil. It may do hell on your cholesterol, but I haven't
had such a good bag of popcorn in 45 years.
Rt 93 to the Louden Road exit in Concord. Head east and the theater is in
the first shopping center on your right. Cinema 93.
I have lived about 45 miles from Concord for some 30 years, and did not
know about this theater until it appeared on this P3D list. What an
untapped resource for the lovers of 3D!
