Viewmaster Camera worth fixing?

I need a diagnosis for my sick Viewmaster Personal camera . The
film-wind-stop isn't working. The instructions stamped on the bottom of
the camera say the VP is supposed to wind sort of like a realist: you
take a snapshot, then wind the advance-the-film knob until a lock-up
mechanism won't let you wind any more. Take another snap, wind again,
etc.

My newly acquired VP mostly works fine. It winds, cocks the shutter,
and takes a picture no trouble. But the wind-stop mechanism isn't
working. You just wind and wind and wind without knowing when to stop
winding or where you are in the roll.

Question:

    Anyone familiar with this problem?

Easy or hard (read: affordable/expensive) to get fixed?

Who would you get to fix it? (I'd rather not do it myself --
when I take things apart and put them back together, I always end up with
parts left over.)

TIA,

Greg
