It could be a corruption of "whuffo", which is a Walt Kelly spelling of a
(supposedly) Okefenokee dialect term meaning "what for", to be used in place
of "why". Or it could be the sound paraglider pilots make when they do an
unexpected belly-flop on the ground. :-)
Are you a paraglider pilot, and if so, have you found a way to combine this
sport with 3D photography?
