Canopus is not driving the development/definition of JPS directly.  We
had previously done almost the same thing for our own stereo viewer,
but actually changed the format we use at the request of other JPS
developers (they wanted the right image on the left side for X view,
we originally had it the other way).  Our guy who has been working
with the other companies is out of town at the moment and I don't
know for sure who the other "players" are.  I'll write again when I 
find out.

Our viewer is not compatible with other boards because there are
not adequate standards in place to allow a hardware abstraction.
We would certainly like to see such standards emerge, but in
truth, a universal viewer is probably a long way off.
