Lakeland Camera Show

Sunday, 4 May 1997, some of us attended the camera show at Lakeland,
NJ. There were only a very few stereo cards of undistinguished
quality, and few VMs. Prices for most Ameriacn stereo-cameras were
high, without much movement of goods.

Here are some quotes (asking prices):
Realist 3.5 $140
Colorist I $275
TDC Vivid $275
Kodak Stereo $125
Sputnik $120
Nord Proj. $375

The unusual development was that there were several of the
Cyrillic-label Sputniks
on the table of a Russian fellow, at much lower prices than what we
have seen before.
Price was without case, and without those pressed-sheet-metal lens
caps. Perhaps
the bottom is falling out of the Sputnik market, and people will be
able to pick up
that interesting example of "Soviet craftsmanship" more easily.
