Regarding selling and customer service, Dan Shelley writes:

<< You have something for sale in your
physical store and someone walks in. They see it, ....>>

I can readily understand Dan's viewpoint. However, this is NOT a physical
store, and email means you could lose a sale, while trying to chase down
customer #1 who may have only been "kicking tires". No?

My own perspective is practical. "Money talks and bullsh*t walks." So when
you have a buyer, mark the goods "sold" and wait for the money. If others
show interest tell them it's sold, but if buyer #1 backs out they'll be on
the list. If buyer #1 backs out and then reconsiders, then it depends upon
whether you've already notified #2 she has got the sale, in which case you
would tell #1, "It's been sold."

** Job #1 is to sell your mechandise for money. **
If you've got an indecisive customer, while decisive others have money in
hand, you would be a fool to wait on the wieney! What you actually do
depends on whether he is a proven customer, etc. He needs to take a course
in "He who hesitates is Lost -- 101" . Sellers treat customers with respect.
It is appropriate to expect customers to treat sellers with a similar
respect.

Robert
