I just got a roll of prints developed with a series of 3D Rose pictures. In
all of them the background is out of focus and the effect turned out very
nice IMO. I can easily explore these out of focus areas with my eyes, but
they don't detract from the main part of the image and help to direct the
vision back to the central subject. Pretty nice effect. I used a short piece
of angle aluminum fastened to my tripod with a wingnut and slid the camera
along the metal as a simple slide bar. The aluminum was inexpensive at a
nearby industrial recycling yard. It sure beats moving the tripod or hand
holding the camera.
