*****  The camera I use (Nikon 2020) has auto focus but this feature can be
turned off or locked to a specific setting. I have had the experience of
being set up for two rapid shots, only to be foiled by the camera seeking a
new focus on the second shot. It's a useful feature in a good camera, but
sometimes switching it off is best.
