At it's root the JPS file is a single JPG file containing both a left and
right image. They are defined as containing the right eye's image on the
left and the left eye's image on the right. By definition, cross-viewable.

Viewing software recognizes the format and autoamtically splits it down the
middle sending each half to the appropriate display or filtering process.
Since the image is split in middle it should be an even number of pixels
wide. For some computer systems it is only necessary to save your image as a
JPG and then change the G to an S. In other instances such as with
Depthcharge, you will get better function out of adding special tags to the
image. VRex supplies a free utility on their website for that purpose. It is
in the process of being improved to make it even easier to use.

Thanks to the new software from VRex, Depthcharge, the single JPS file can
be interpreted by any means you choose. All kinds of anaglyphic images, side
by side pairs or LCS glasses. That saves making all the different versions
ahead of time and creaing links to each type.

The big shortcoming at this moment is that the plug-in doesn't work in a MAC
machine. I encourage any of you who may be using a MAC, to write to VRex and
let your voice be heard. Even if you don't have LCS glasses yet, you can
still have a desire to view stereo images in anaglyphic or side by side
format. That would be possible once the software is upgraded to at least
function on a MAC machine. Hopefully LCS viewing gear is about to be more
available for you too.

I don't have a MAC, but I regularly hear from visitors who are using them.
Until this is upgraded you still have to create separate versions of your
stereo images in the standard JPG or GIF format so that all your visitors
can view them.
