That's "window violation" assuming that this object intercepts
the edges of the window.

I said the same thing but in my own words and more general.  
I said the window is placed past objects that intercept it.  
This is "window violation" and you describe one example of
it, window at 7 feet and closest object at 5.  So the window
is past (counting from the camera) an object that intercepts it.
Another case is to have the window at 20 feet and the closest
object at 10.  Or, have the window at infinity or even past
infinity.  We've seen examples like that in old stereo views.
And that's what Bill is describing by saying which eye sees
more in which side.
