Trimming of stereo prints

Jullius and June Martin asked about trimming
of stereo prints. I looked at the website they
directed me to and I don't see amything wrong
with that system.

I don't use it as I make my own black & white
prints. I print for the subject matter I want
to show and make the
prints 2 7/8 inches wide.I begin by trimming off the
white inside borders of both images. Then I align the images with
a T square and cut off the bottoms (more or less even).
Then I trim all the white borders and mount them, with
a blank septum, on black cards. I then make an individual
label for each stereo card (Eliminate the unknowns!!)

As far as adhesives that can be repositioned, I can't be of
any help there. I use dry mount tissue and a dry mount
press and there is little you can do about it once you have the
prints mounted. There are some brands of dry mount tissue
that claim you can reposition mounted objects by reheating
the tissue, but I have not tried them.
