A Fake 3D Gallery on the web?

The 3D Gallery
http://www.loop.com/~raw/3dg/leo.htm
All the images have been set up for anaglyph viewing.
It don't help much, not even if you use anaglyph glasses.
There is no stereoscopic images to be seen.
All the images are flat!
They are separated by anaglyph means only to stand back from the stereo
window it creates. Unfortunately this don't make the images turn into
3D. The disparity between the red and blue is equal for all homologous
points in the images and adds no stereo depth cues for the brain to fuse
the images into a 3 dimensional image.
The link to this site is incorporated on other web sites, even at Dan
Shelleys very useful and user friendly web site.

I suggest that a new category will be helpful under a heading like: Fake
Stereo Links or similar. Check out the quality before adding links that
claims to be a 3D web site. However, to sort this out by use of search
engines will not be easy, yet. A search engine would maybe find <Fake
Space>, but that on the other hand is a true stereoscopic VR viewing
device!
There is different reasons that makes fake 3D pop up.
The most evident case is lack of knowledge, experience and in particular
when there is a complex mix between several non stereo depth cues and
those that works with stereopsis. The brain will try to solve mismatch
in images and might suppress conflicting information and interpret a
final solution in its own way. This leads into the world of optical
illusions in which stereo takes a large part too. Apart from obvious
fake 3D, creative use of stereoscopic illusions can be a lot of fun.
