I'm way behind in reading the P3D posts, so forgive me if this has

Canopus started the JPS format and have always maintained that it should
be simply a JPEG with side-by-side views (no extra header info). It is

useful to have the .JPS extention to find stereo images quickly, and
this
generally doesn't prohibit it from being opened as a JPEG. In the worst
case, you can change the extention to .JPG or whatever. We disagree
with VRex's addition of further information because it increases
complexity
for little benefit.
