Copying stereocards?

Does anybody have some hints on copying stereocards onto slide format?  I 
am working on a slide show of historical landscapes and would like to 
include some of my stereocards showing the Grand Canyon in c1900 to go 
along with more contemporary views.  Will a copy stand and 1:1 macro lens 
get the effect that I want?  I am experimenting today but will take any 
suggestions for tommorrow! :)
