Unusual Stereo card

I found an antique stereo card this past weekend that was unlike any that 
I had seen before.  It was a 19th century snow scene near Niagara Falls.  
The unusual part was that the left picture was tinted blue and the right 
picture was tinted red.  This was not an anaglyph but simply, I suspect, 
an attempt to tone the converged image to have more of an icy, frosty 
color.  Any comments?
