RBT opinions

One more opinion on the RBT
I have been a RBTx2 user for more than 2 years and for my $2000
to $3000 its the best selection I can make. I just wish they would
charge a little more and make it from some real cameras like Nikon,
Canon etc.. example: If I called one of you and told you I just
purchased a new Ricoh KR-10 35mm camera, how excited would you be
for me ? Not very, I think. But if I call you and say, "I just
bought TWO of them hooked together by RBT," you probably think...WOW!
Does that make sense? Probably not.
What will my next stereo camera be? A RBTx4.
As to what RBT stands for. My wife thinks it means Rairdin's Big Toy.
Carrying the RBT has given me the opportunity to teach scores of little
stereo photography mini courses to strangers from Maui to New York
because they ask about it. I usually finish by taking a side step
stereo for them using their camera. This includes a couple of
security guards who didn't like the camera at the White House fence.
The lens spacing on my RBT allows twenty 7 perf pairs from a 36 exposure
roll of film. The down side of this is that the side by side
images on the film touch each other (no space between them). I shoot
mostly prints and the lab that I use has purchased new automated
equipment which won't stop for each frame without a clear space.
I have to use a special x-acto blade to scratch a clear line between
the frames. (This is not required with my 7 perf Belplasca)
If I were to purchase another RBT, I would select a lens spacing which
gives a full 8 perf format..
