>From an ad for a new Contax (mono, of course) camera:
"...this revolutionary concept moves the film plane instead of the lens
to obtain focus." Gosh! will wonders never cease?
On the price of an RBT-has anyone figured out what the Realists price of
$182.25 (tax included) for the camera and viewer works out to in 1997
dollars? I usually tell people that they cost about as much in 1950s
dollars as a good camcorder does in today's. (However, the Coronet cost
$19.95, and I paid somthing like 70 canadian bucks for mine, plus
10 or 12 for the viewer...clearly the Coronet was the better
investment-my realist has hardly appreciated!)
On SIRDS, and the inability to see them:
The backs of our pay stubs at work used to be printed with a random
security pattern, I used to have a lot of fun telling people that if you
looked at it the right way, you could see the name of the bank in 3D...
