I assure you I was not attempting to give jpegs a "bum rap," but merely
pointing out that I, personally, can perceive a depreciation in the
depth element of a stereoscopic graphic file after it has been converted
to jpeg format.

When I do jpeg compress files (often), I set the quality fairly
high...and do not prioritize optimizing the size of the file too much
beyond the initial size change between formats.  Perhaps, my lack of a
frame of reference regarding "the living snot" puts me at a disadvantage
in evaluating to what degree I'm laying on the compression.

Also...I have copies of Drew Carey and Home improvement on video.  If
you'd like I can copy "the living snot" out of them for you.  Let me
know.
