Some technologies will remain with us simply because they work so well. If
our new toys stray too far from real basics they may not last, so being able
to do what you described is really a big plus!!!

***** You asked the question of how to share digital images with friends
who didn't have a computer in front of them. Going to hard copy is the
obvious answer. As to skipping the digital realm entirely if hard copy was
intended, think that one over again. For one thing, sharing images with
friends may not be the only purpose for a particular image, but it's
important to not ignore that function! Then all the other special things
digital offers lets you have an even more special image to share than what
might have come from the original whether taken with film or digital media.
Film cameras aren't going to disappear anytime soon and that's a great
thing. I prefer to go into digital before presentation most of the time
regardless of the original source. (though I don't have all the techno toys
I really need yet!!!)
