Sometimes this works in the favor of the consumer... I once found
the Sears 50 card set in a local antique store. Going price at
the time was about $50. I offered to pay $50. The dealer insisted
that the set is worth $200 and was furiously trying to locate it
in Waldsmith's book. He finally found it. Listed price: $25 in
exc. condition. "OK, I'll take $50" he said. "No you won't!"
He was happy to get $25.
