***** I've been behind in reading the digests just found this thread. I
have reservations about the project in that some material on my site I may
wish to publish on my own at some point. Others may have similar thoughts or
plans for their web content. It certainly would have to be done with
permission...
However, as to costs, if I were to collect all the images and websites on my
own and take it to the local computer store, it would cost me $25 to have a
CD burned with the info. I assume that I might get a slightly better deal if
I had multiple copies burned at the same time. The biggest cost is
organizing the whole thing and making sure it all worked before putting it
on the CD to begin with. That would be quite a bit of work.

***** For the amount of work, and considering how useful the results might
be, this sounds more like it should be a *for profit* venture. Once the
master copy is made and checked out, multiple copies can be duplicated at
lower costs when done in volume. I haven't checked those costs, but it would
make a low level circulation project seem viable. I wouldn't expect to make
a lot of money from this, but contibutors should be able to share in
whatever returns might happen.
