converting 3D interlaced GIF to JPS

Hi All,

I've recently been updating the 3D gallery on my site to make the images
more accessible. The images were originally only available as 3D interlaced
GIFs but I've been converting them to JPS (from the original 24bit TIFs) and
also generating a Red/Cyan (Red on the left!) Anaglyph and small thumbnails
for the index at the same time.

But BOY! it is a slow process. I've been using Photoshop 3 (under
Windows95) to do the conversions and it took me a whole morning to do 20
images. There's about another 20 to go I think.
The process goes something like this:
1. Load original 3D interlaced TIF (24 bit)
2. Select All (CTRL-A)
3. Copy image (CTRL-C)
3. New Image (CTRL-N) and press enter (Photoshop generates a new image
window the size of the clipboard image)
4. paste into the new image window (CTRL-V)
5. Filter->Video->De-interlace both images (odd lines for one image and even
lines for the other image) - this generates the two stereo-pair images (one
right and one left).
6. I then select the right image window and use "Image->Canvas Size" to
double the width of the image window (keeping the original right image on
the left of the window)
7. Select the left image window, Select All (CTRL-A), Copy (CTRL-C)
8. Select the right image window and Paste (CTRL-P)
9. The floating selection must then be moved into the right hand
side of the right image window.
HEY PRESTO - a cross-eye oriented stereo-pair ready to be saved as
a JPEG and renamed as a JPS.

A few more steps are required to generate the anaglyph and thumbnail.

I've considered setting up a (Keystroke,Mouse Movement) macro to
automate this process but some steps (particularly 6 and 9)
need to be done manually.

Does anybody know of an easier way?

Andrew.
