Is it true that most everyone agrees that the RBT mount is the
simplest and easiest to use and that cost is the only draw back? If
they were to cost pennies each then NO ONE should have a reason to
NOT mount their own slides, right? Well, mounting in Spicer mounts
with the RBT as a jig is almost as easy and very cheap.

Dr. T. stated that he thought this method was for experienced
mounters. I disagree. It is very easy and can be mastered in as
little as two rolls of film. I just finished mounting close to 500
pairs (only 150 to go) using this method. When I started out it took
me an average of 1.5 hours per 28 pairs. This includes cutting and
sorting the film chips (see my post about Realist Notch), mounting,
adjusting the window, checking alignment, taping mount shut, and
admiring my work. By the time I finished I got that time down to
about an hour. I could shorten this time even more if I didn't hand
cut each piece of silver tape with a pair of scissors and spend so
much time admiring my work the first time I looked at it. With all
modesty, I believe I could streamline the process and get the time
down to 30-45 minutes.

If I was to do this for money for someone else, I would consider my
time to be worth $15.00 an hour. Spicer mounts are currently about
$0.11 each. My local lab processes 36 exposure E6 film for $3.95.
That means just to break even I would have to charge $20.00 a 36
exposure roll. That doesn't include postage. Is $25.00-30.00 an
amount people would be willing to pay to get back a 36 exposure roll
of precision mounted 3D slides? I am not offering this service, but
would like to know what people would be willing to pay.

I would definitely match (and beat) Dr. T's price of $5.00 a slide
mounted in any format you choose. Hey, that's only $128.00 for a 36
exposure roll *{;-)

Seriously, just mount your own. It can be and IS easy, fun, and
rewarding. Anyone can become proficient in a short period of time.
Just ask Dr. T how very, very bad I was when I first started. I
believe one of his comments to me was "Do you even have any concept
of what 3D and the stereo window is?" Before anyone misinterprets, I
really appreciated Dr. T's comments and I asked for him to be
brutally honest. It is this honest criticism and suggestions from him
and others that got me to the level I am at now.

I realize that people's time is very precious to them, but surely you
can afford to give up watching one mind numbing situation comedy on
TV to mount a roll of 3D film.

If any one would like a personalized walk through of the RBT - Spicer
mounting process, I would be glad to. Just contact me off-line.

Thanks for the time,
