stereo adapters
Hello!
I'm new to the list. Reading the first digest it seems that there are a
lot of members with actual stereo cameras, but for cost reasons as well
as time factors, I'm looking for a stereo adapter that places a stereo
pair on two halves of a standard 24X36mm frame.
I am aware of the one on eBay and am corresponding with the poster while
I consider a bid. I am also aware of the new Argus stereo camera which
uses this split-frame technique--seeing one was what got me interested
again. But it is a box camera and I find that a little limiting.
There is a complete Miida outfit on Usenet with two viewers, projector
adapter, etc., but it is pricey.
A photo dealer here says that an adapter is currently listed in the
Pentax catalog, but without a price. He's checking.
The adapter on eBay mounts via a bracket to the tripod socket, which is
universal but a little unwieldy. I was hoping for something that fit the
front of the lens. It also uses mirrors. I was thinking that prisms might
be better, although they would probably be more expensive.
Has anyone had experience with adapters like these?
Thanks for your thoughts!
