Mounting Realist slides

I just completed mounting a roll of Realist slides, for the first time,
and want to report on my results from that perspective. My biggest
problem was the curl of the film. I reverse rolled the film for 2 days
but there was still some curl left. I didn't want to wait any longer so
I proceeded anyway. This makes it a process that one cannot just decide
to do, but instead, plan out the stages. Or am I missing some trick of
getting the curl out?
I was able to get nice straight cuts due to the acquisition of an
illuminated film cutter. I found some archival tape at an art supply
house for taping the film chips to the cardboard mounts. All told I was
happy to be able to get the chips to stay in place between the raised
guides - so I did not do any adjustments for the stereo window.
After cutting the first few pairs, I found that I did not even look at
the film to match the pairs. Just getting a routine of cutting and
setting the chips aside in order worked very well. When I did look at
the chips, the notch on the right image was usually visible. On some,
the notch was just not visible - at first I thought it was because it
fell on the sprocket hole but if previous reports are true that should
not be possible. It may be because the particular image made it hard to
see. In any case, it sure is easier picking out the left and right as
you cut them!
The roll turned out to be mostly overexposed, so I will not sweat trying
to precision re-mount any this time.
