It seems to me one could implement this excellent idea in a reversable
(i.e. impermanent) fashion by replacing the original mask with a piece of
clear acetate, suitably marked.  If one used the original mask as a
template, one could even cut out the center to have a clear aperture
just like before...

Perhaps a new product for Dr. T. to offer in his catalog? :-)
