I don't believe I am going to say this!
For people taking "snapshot" style images, I think the very simple fundamentals
of photographic composition will do more than understanding all the technical
stuff.
By fundamentals, I mean placing the horizon in a landscape about 1/3 of the way
down the frame, framing subjects with objects such as trees, the rule of 9 (under
its various names) etc.
The only technical knowledge they need is how to load and unload film correctly,
how to check and change batteries and maybe if the flash is rated for 16 feet,
don't take images that are 32 feet away.
I still can't believe I said that.
