Which part are you talking about?  I assume you are talking about the
top.  The height of the top of the lamps depends on which lamps are used.
The 500W bulbs do not extend over the top.  The 750W bulbs are bigger
and do extend.  Can it be that your projector has 500W bulbs while the
club's projector has 750W bulbs?

Which part has been rewired?  I have not heard of any problems with
projectors "burning out"...

Most probably they are rusted and stuck in place.  Taking apart the
frame will let you take the filters and the whole assembly out.

Exactly which part of the carrier is scraping?  Is that the bottom or 
the side of the carrier?  What carrier does your 116 have?  The old one
(the one with the 40 mm x 40 mm openings) or the new one?  If you have
the old carrier then you need an adapter with the Selectron carrier.
