(I am replying to the list, as was suggested.)
As Paul T mentioned, there was an optional set of "sunshades and filter
holders" for Realists (ST-54 Sunshade) that took series V filters as he
described in his post. These have a fairly large slip-on type attachment
which goes around the focusing ring as well as the lens itself. These
sunshades were large enough to allow the use of the small slip on
filters (which slip over the 20mm diameter lens) that were available for
Realists as well as the standard Series V type (which are 30mm diameter
and have a smooth edge, so need to be used with a retaining ring.) I
have a set of non-Realist Series V adaptors that slip over the lenses
just like the small slip on filters do, and then have a retaining ring
for the larger Series V filters. I got mine from Ron Zakowski, although
they might be found at camera swaps etc with a lot of looking.
The Kodak and Viewmaster have built in retaining rings for the Series V
filters already.
I don't have a Revere, but the instruction manual shows "filter
retaining rings" apparently built into the camera which it says are the
right size to accept Series IV filters, which I presume are similar to
but smaller than the Series V filters. If you check your camera closely,
I presume you will be able to unscrew these retaining rings from the
front of each lens and you will see what we are talking about. If they
were missing, you would see the threads. (And theoretically you could
use thread-mounted filters if you could find them that small.) If you
cannot find Series IV filters, you might be able to find an appropriate
slip-on adaptor for series V or Series VI filters. What is the outer
diameter of your lens?
I hope this info helps -Linda
