Wow!  I tired to say this a few months ago and did not find a lot of
support here.  :-)

This is a fact.  But I think there is more at risk than just slide film. 
The entire 35 mm film is at risk.  If another format becomes dominant (film
or filmless) then the price and processing of 35 mm might go up.  This will
hurt those who use 35 mm stereo cameras in general.

I am taking one day at a time.  Hard to tell the future 50 years from now. 
Based on some predictions from 50 years ago, we should be traveling to the
moon for entertainment by now.  It has been predicted that 2x2 format will
take over the standard stereo format in slides.  This has not happened and
new companies like RBT are supporting the system with mounts and projectors.

Look at the black and white film.  This is a specialty item and processing
is expensive but Bill and others are still using it (for stereo). 
If slide film looks to be heading to extinction, I will buy 1000 rolls and
enough chemicals to last me for a few years :-)
