>>Is there ANY way to read this claim other than a Pulfrich-effect system?

A system which shifts the apparent position of the left and/or right views
to move the apparent position of entire image closer or further than the
actual distance (without adding depth *within* the image) would satisfy
most of the description, if "stereoscopic 3D" is not interpreted in the
strictly traditional manner. Such a system would *not* be Pulfrich. [Note]
I didn't notice anything on the Web page that clearly indicated a
dependence
on motion, which Pulfrich requires.

Actually, I think your suggestion fails his claim that his system works on
any picture without any special processing. The more you read his claim,
the more it MUST be Pulfrich in some disguise or another. Your idea IS one
of the more commonly used pseudo-3D scams, however. Remember the guy who
claimed to represent VRex last month and was presenting "3D" versions of
classic films by using a video projector to offset polarized images so the
flat picture would appear to float off the screen's surface?
